Pink and Pretty Baby Gifts!

My daughter is having a baby and as every Grandmother to-be, I am thrilled and filled with anticipation.  Last weekend we had a baby shower.  So  much fun!

This is a card I made for the Mommy-to-be.  Can you guess what she is having!!!  The shoes were made using the Cricut cartridge, "Kate's ABCs".

  I hung the card on the outside of the bag.  It was just too cute to hide inside an envelope.  Another package was decorated with a simple paper doily and tied with pink ribbon.   So pink, so pretty!

This darling little pillow was tucked inside the bag.  I saw the pattern and fell in love with it.  My daughter is doing a lamb theme in the nursery and this was perfect. The pattern was from a Leisure Art Book called, "Cozy Wool Applique Pillows".  I did make changes to the pattern to customize the size and style I wanted for the nursery.  I just love the way it turned out.  So sweet!

Cowgirl Party Time!

"Watering Hole"

The fruit jar glasses were wrapped with twine and each had a little name tag tied on it. 

The food labels were so fun to make.

 This sign hung on the front door.  All the wooden signs added to the atmosphere of the "Wild West".

Cowgirl Mini Album!

Happy March to you!  Looking out my kitchen window, I see more snowflakes in the air!  That has to be more like a lion than a lamb, right???  Spring should be just around the corner.

 Today I wanted to share with you a mini album I made for my daughter.  The paper was, "October Afternoon's-Sasaparilla".  Lets take a peek inside!

The fun embellishments you see here were from the same line.  They are just way too cute!

I don't know about the moon but this cowboy definitely has the cowgirls heart!

Some of the embellishments I created from odds and ends in my stash.  Every crafter has one!

Cowgirls come in all sizes, big and small.  These two are ready to ride!  Love the hats girls!!

This is a pocket which holds lots of fun pictures, journaling, and the momentum's.

Fishy Card Making!

Wanted to share with you some cards which I recently made.  The stamp set used is from WPlus9, and the name of the stamp and die is "Fish More".  The website is: www.wplus9.com.

  This card works well for birthdays and retirements.  What guy doesn't like to fish!

 How about this card!!!  A fish hook hangs from the pocket and some little fish are tucked in another pocket.

These cards were placed on the gift bag instead of in an envelope.  All ready for the party!

 The cards which need to be mail, I put in a cute brown paper bag embellished with another little fish.  I will mail them in a padded mailer.  The card is like a little gift in itself.  Who wouldn't want to receive it!!  So fun to make and so fun to share!!

"Wrapped in Love"

Happy Valentines Day!  What a great holiday.  It is a perfect occasion to say "I love You" to all those special people in our lives.

I plan to celebrate with  the special people in my life, my dear husband, children and grandchildren.  I just could not resist giving them all a special gifts.  Another way to let them know how much  they are loved.

This was a little card which I added to the package to use as a gift tag.  Why hide it in an envelope!

I love this tag!  It proudly hangs on a present for a very special little girl!  The clown was from http://graphicsfairy.blogspot.com/   

 Red and white polka dot cupcake liner, (from Michael's), were used to make the flowers.   I cut them to various sizes and put a glittered white heart in the center.  How much fun is that!!!!

Rosemary Chicken!

  Friday is the day we go out to dinner but not tonight!!!  It is just too cold to venture out.  Having a special meal at home with a warm fire, followed by an old classic movie sounds pretty appealing!

Today I want to share with you a recipe for Rosemary Chicken.  This is a perfect meal for a cold evening.  It will make your whole house smell wonderful.  It is from my dear friend Lee Ann who is an amazing cook.  Her recipes are quick to make, nutritious and very flavorful.  Perfect for a  busy day of crafting.

Brine Chicken (A step which takes some advanced planning but end result is well worth it)
1 cup salt dissolved in 1 gallon of water (12-24 hours)  You can add fresh herbs (like rosemary)if available.
4-5 lb. chicken (preferred free range and no hormones)

Rosemary Chicken
Salt cavity, fill with 3 sprigs of Rosemary, 2 heads of garlic(halved), 1 lemon(quartered).  Tie legs together.
Use a 4.5 liter dutch oven with lid for the oven.
Melt 4 Tbsp. of butter and baste chicken.  Salt and pepper.
Cut in quarters 8 large red potatoes
8 large carrots (3 inches long)
1 large onion cut in wedges
Opt. parsnips
Arrange the vegetables around the chicken.
Add additional extra virgin olive oil or grape seed oil to baste the vegetables.
Sprinkle salt, pepper, herbes de provence, or your favorite chicken seasoning, over vegetables and chicken.
Roast 1 and 3/4 hours covered at 450 degrees.
Remove vegetables after the first hour(if they are tender) and continue to roast chicken until it reaches 180 degrees internally  Reserve remaining broth for extra scrumptious flavor!
This dish makes 6-8 servings so invite some friends over or enjoy leftovers.  I used mine to make a pot of soup)

Cooking is a ministry, it nurtures the soul and blesses hearts as well as tummies.   It might be cold and dark outside but as for my home, it is warm, cozy and filled with love.
