We Remember!

Thank you to all men and women serving in the armed forces.  To your loved ones  for they too have made sacrifices.  We honor all who have served to defend this great nation.  Those who have laid down there lives for our freedom!  We remember and we honor you today.
God bless and protect our service men and women.
God Bless America!

Pillow, Prayers and Restoration!

Hi Everyone!  Here is the rest of the information about the pillow I shared with you Wednesday.
This is pillow scene represents spring.  Looking at the pillow reminds me to pray for our friends in Joplin who lost so much this past week. Let us remember to keep them in our prayers as they rebuild their homes and their lives.
The muslin panel is tied on and has a scene of a house for each season.  There are two scenes on the front and two on the back.  This one is..you guessed it!  Summer!

Here is fall which is my favorite time of the year.  The tree with just a few leaves looks so cute!

The winter pillow scene is complete with a decorated tree and a snowman.  Did you notice the wreaths hanging on each house?  I really enjoy changing the pillow with the seasons.
The pattern is called "Changing Season's Pillow", and it is by Country Stitches.  It was just really so fun to make and I have enjoyed changing it every season.

Thanks for stopping by!  Our prayers that God  will restore the Homes and Lives of the people of Joplin!

Blessings!

Warmth of Home Wednesday-Joplin, our Hearts go out to You!

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the people of Joplin, Missouri who have lost so much.  May the Lords comfort and sustain you as you deal with such great loss.  To all the rescue workers and those helping, may the Lord protect and direct your steps.

Our homes are such places of rest, security and comfort to us, but they are temporary and can be gone in a matter of minutes, making one realize that even though our homes are special they are only temporary.   Our true dwelling is with the Lord and it is His presence that gives us true rest, peace and security.  Today before I go off doing all the duties of making the home, I choose to spend a little more time with the Lord, in His word, in His presence and in prayer for the people of Joplin

This is a pillow I made several years ago but it is such a favorite and I still enjoy it in my home.  Right now it is in my Craft Room where I spend allot of time.  I will share more details with you about this pattern later in the week.  As I look at it today, my prayer for Joplin is that the sun will come out again, the love of Jesus will cover you, your homes will be restored, trees will again grow tall and provide shade, and just as the flowers, you will truly bloom where you are planted.

Stitched with love, from My Heart to Yours!

Monday in the Making-Ideas for Graduation Cards!

Today I wanted to share with you some fast and fun ideas for all those Graduation Parties most of you will be invited to, or maybe you will be hosting one.  Have you priced cards lately?  Boring and expensive!!
The bottom card is a money folder.  Simple and fun to make!  Graduates always appreciate a little cash!

This card was cased from Dawn's Stamping Thoughts!
This is a pop up card that says hats off to the Graduate!  The tassels are made from ribbon.

This card ideas came from DOstampingwith Dawn!

This card looks like a miniature Graduation hat complete with a tassel.
This is the inside of the hat.  You can make a set of these in no time at all and always have them on hand.

Congratulations to all Graduates!

Our Daughter's Coming Home!

Here is is Saturday and I''m just getting my blog up!  It's been a busy week!  I always try to blog on Wednesday but Wednesday just flew right by this week.  Sorry!  What's going on, you ask.  Our daughter's coming home!  Music to my ears!!

I've been planting flowers and getting the patio all decorated so we can enjoy being out there and possible eat out there too.  Inside, I am getting food ready, washing bedding and cleaning etc.  All the good stuff one does to prepare for a special guest.  It reminds me of the movie "Christmas with the Cranks".   Plans can change pretty fast when you hear the words, "Hi Mom and Dad, I'm coming home!".   Oh, and by the way she is bringing her boyfriend too!

Want to take a peek at the patio???

One always needs a pot of red geraniums for the summer.
We hung an old screen door up at the end of the patio.  It makes the patio look just like an outside room.
This sign, found at a flea market, hangs on the patio wall!
There is an old gate behind this plant.  The flower vines grow right up the gate.  Fun!
Eating breakfast on the patio was fun!  Later in the evening we had a fire in the fire pit and it was the perfect ending of a perfect day.  It sure is great to have your daughter home!!
Cozy Blessing From my Patio to Yours!

Monday in the Making - Build a Blossom Cards!

Wow!  I love the cards for this months card class!  I just finished the samples and wanted to share them with you.  All the cards are made using the "Build a Blossom" stamp set and the matching punch.  All the supplies are from Stampin Up.  Some of the colors I used were Peach Parfait, Poppy's on Parade, Bashful Blue and Pretty in Pink.
This card was cased from Mary Fish at Stampin Pretty.  She is an amazing stamper and I like her color combinations.
Don't you just love this flower!!  The stamp set I used on both the above and below card was "Blessed Mother".

These cards can be used for birthdays or Mother's Day.  I think anyone would love to receive a card like this.  It has "I love you" and "You are special" written all over it.
Cozy Blessing!
