Monday in the Making -A New Craft Room on the Way!

This is my new craft room under construction.  My husband, bless his heart, tore out the carpet and put a new floor in.  The room was used as a bedroom/craft room and it was a little crowded to say the least!  Now it is going to be a Craft Room, no more bedroom. My husband worked very hard to make this an awesome room.  He installed extra lighting and new furniture.  Gotta love a guy like that!!!

For the most part the room is done and wow, do I love it!  There is soo much storage space.  I feel so organized!  One feature of the room that I really like is the large file drawers.  I now have all my papers organized by color families.

There is also plenty of room for creating and teaching classes.  The problem now is that I do not want to come out of the room!  Forget the cooking, cleaning and laundry!  My husband calls the room "The She Cave".  I will share more with you later this week, but right  now I gotta run!  Back to the cave to do some more creating!

From my cozy Craft Room/She Cave to yours!

Warmth of Home Wednesday-At home in the Mts.

Good Morning!  Hope your home is warm and cozy this morning.  I am looking out my kitchen window and it looks so cold outside and a little bleak!  My thoughts return to our recent trip to the Mt's.  What a wonderful time we had with our family.
The the Mt's. in all there beauty and splendor.  The handiwork of God!  Absolutely beautiful to behold!
This is the house where we stayed and I might add where I spent most of my time.  It was a beautiful home and accommodated all 13 of us with room to spare!  Plenty of cozy sitting areas with fireplaces and plenty of windows to look outside and see the beauty.
Most of the family went skiing and for those who love to ski, this is a giant playground!

Some went snowshoeing and found some great trails.  Others (Like myself) stayed in the house and did crafts or read, and most importantly held the baby.  Here she is celebrating her 1st Valentines Day!

We did venture out on a couple occasions to do some shopping.  In the evenings we played games.  "Catch Phrase" was our family favorite!  Sometimes we laugh until our sides hurt.  Later in the evening there was usually a card game going on down stairs.  Wow!  Vacations are just the best of times with family"

Each person took a turn cooking a meal and we had some great food.  This meal was barbecued meat that my daughter and son-in-law made.  They also made homemade cornbread and baked beans.  It was amazing!  Every meal was soooo good!

Family, the dearest people on this earth!  Sharing laughter, fun times and happy memories!  Thanks for the memories!  I love you all!

Warmth of Home Wednesday-Just let me Curl up on the Sofa!

Aren't these just the cutest little flowers!  I have been crocheting little flower every night as I curl up under a blanket on the sofa.  I look forward to the evening, when dinner is over and the dishes are done and I can just chill out on the sofa and be cozy and do some hand work. It is a treat after working all day to unwind and  do something that is enjoyable and relaxing and I might add productive

.
This is a card I made using the flowers.  I needed a birthday card and I wanted it to be something special.  I added buttons to the inside of the flower.  I have some ideas for the rest of the flowers too.  Of course I will save some to use in scrapbooking and then I thought about adding some to the Baby Sweater, which by the way is layed out on the floor drying, after I blocked it.  They could be added to hats, slippers, hair headbands, they could be put on wreaths, or made into a corsage.  The list is endless.

I found the pattern for this at a great blog called Little Birdie Secrets.blogspot.com.  It was a free little tutorial that showed how to make them.  On this same blog I found a tutorial for little hearts and butterflies.  I crocheted a bunch of little hearts and gave them to the gals at Card Club.  Can't wait to see what ideas they come up with for using them.

Hope you snuggle up on your sofa tonight, and enjoy the warmth of home.
Warm and Cozy Blessing!

Monday in the Making-Sweet Baby Sweater!

Good Morning!  Does anyone else feel the winter drabs or is it just me!  I'm feeling house bound and unmotivated to tackle the daily to do list. Funny how exciting it can be to start a new project and then so easy to put off finishing it!  Well today I'm going to share with you a project that needs to get finished if the baby is ever going to be able to wear it.  My goal this week is to get it finished!  Perseverance!!!  That's my motto, that and the fact that I will not allow myself to buy another pattern or start another project until I finish a couple I have in the making!
This is a sweet little hoodie!  The good news is the pattern was free, it was just hanging in the yarn department, so of course I just had to pick it up.  Next thing I know I'm browsing the isles looking for the perfect yarn!  Maybe it would just be better for me to stay out of stores like that!!  Just kidding!

The hood.
Two fronts and the back.
Two sleeves with the white edging already added.

Today I need to block the pieces, let it dry for a day then crochet the button band and sew together.  The last thing to do will be to sew on buttons and add the white edging around the rest of the sweater.  Pray for a favorable outcome!

This is a Bernat pattern and they have a website.  www.bernat.com.  If you are looking for free patterns you might want to check it out.

I will leave you with a scripture to lift your spirits and encourage you to persevere.

"And he shall be like a tree firmly planted by the streams of water, ready to brig forth its fruit in its season; its leaf also shall not fade or wither and everything he does shall prosper and come to maturity."  Psalms 1:3.

God Bless your day, may it be cozy and  fruitful

Hats, Hats, and More Hats!

What a snow storm!  The sky is a pretty blue this morning.  The sun is once again shining.  Life is getting back to normal as people dig out.  Hope everyone was safe and maybe even took advantage of some time at home to do something you enjoy and otherwise don't have time for.  Yes, I did a little knitting!

Another baby hat is finished!  These little hats are so much fun to make and it is even more fun to see them on little ones.  What a line up of hats!  The animals are modeling too!  Doesn't get much cuter than that!

The latest hat is for Valentines Day, with a bouquet of pink and red flowers on top.  This is another hat from "The Itty Bitty Hat Book" by Susan B. Anderson.  I first checked the book out of the library and after looking at it knew I had to have it.  The hats are pretty easy to make and make great gifts.
