Three Little Words: " I LOVE YOU!

Everyone needs to hear those three little words, "I love you", and Valentines Day is the perfect time to convey that message.    Giving and receiving Valentines is fun for all ages.  I have been working in my craft room, creating some special little goodies to send to those I love.  Lets have a look!
All the cards were made using the "P.S. I Love You" stamp set from Stampin Up. It is a great stamp set and one I know I will use a lot.  Let me know if you would like to purchase your own set.
This card was made using two little sizzlit dies, "Little Leaves" and "Fashionable Hearts".
Next is a paper strawberry which can be filled with goodies!  There is a small tag attached to the top.
Sorry this picture is not better.  I just couldn't seem to get it in focus.  Just take my word for it , it's pretty sweet!
Last, but not least is this little Valentine greeting with a treat tucked inside!  Heart suckers!! Yum!!
All these card were cased from Splitcoast Stampers, an amazing website.  I recommend you check it out!
Remember the power of three little words, "I Love You" and bless your loved ones by letting them how very special they are and how much they are love.

Cozy Blessings,
Bev

Baby It's Cold Outside!

Baby it is cold outside!  I really just want to hibernate and not come out until the weather is warm.  Unfortunately I am going to have to go outside later today to buy groceries.  Well, anyway one must certainly dress warm and I have a great idea to share with you today, which will help you do just that.  I found this really cool neck warmer made from an old wool sweater, on one of my favorite blogs. littlebirdiesecrets.blogspot.com  Be sure and check this one out, as she has a tutorial which will show you exactly how to make it.  Its easy, not expensive and will definitely keep you warm.  I am so excited to try this project!!  Dig out those old sweater and be creative.

Paper Poppies-The Fruit of Our Hands!

Today I want to share with you how to make paper poppies.  The materials I used were:  Stampin Up "Poppy Parade" paper, black DMC Embroidery floss, Spellbinders Nestabilities "Blossom", and walnut stain ink.

The first step is to cut out a flower shape using the Big Shot and the "Blossom" dye.The "Poppy Parade" paper is such a pretty orangish red color.  Just gorgeous!
.Next crumple the paper up and work it until the paper splits.  Sorry this picture is not clearer.

Next use a paper punch to make two small holes in the center.  Oh, and don't forget to stain the edges, both front and back of the flower.  This step adds great depth to the flower.
Now take the black embroidery floss and wrap it as if you were making a bow, and then tie it in the middle leaving a tail on each end
The next step is to pull  a tail through each hole. Tie them securely on the back of the flower and cut the tails.  The bow is now on the front of the poppy.
Cut open the loops and fringe them out, divide and fluff up the 6 strands of  floss. Add a couple leaves using a punch or just free hand cut them.

The result is pretty cute!  I plan to make them in various sizes and use them on a scrapbook page and also on some handmade cards.  I just love them!

In this day of technology and instant everything, I find something so fulfilling and satisfying about creating with ones own hands.   For example, my dear Mother's recipe box is now a keepsake.  She liked to collect recipes and wrote them many times on plain recipe cards, nothing fancy, but now they are of great value to me.  She wrote them all out in her own handwriting, no typewriter, computer etc., and therefore I will not part with that old box of recipes.  Maybe I will spruce up that old box by adding a Poppy, made with my own hands, after all some day that old box will be passed on to my daughters.

I will leave you today with this scripture:

Proverbs 31:31  "Give her the fruit of her hands, and let her own works praise her in the gates of the city."

Blessing!
Bev

Warmth of Home Wednesday- January, Here We Come!

January has actually become one of my favorite months of the year.  I know that sounds strange to many.  After all it is an uneventful month, defined by cold weather and the flu season. Yuk!!  I actually think January is getting a bad rap.  I'm not sick, in fact I feel rejuvenated, and the cold weather just gives me an excuse to hibernate in my craft room.  It's great to get back into a routine, and have the time to enjoy home.  After all the December activities, there is finally time to do the things that I loves to do.  One of which is working in my craft room.  Oh yes, back to creating and that's what I want to share with you today.
Whoooo wouldn't love to get a card like this!!  It was so easy and fun card to make.
All these cards were made using the "Aviary" stamp set!  It is one of my favorites.

What does every person need to do when feeling under the weather??  Drink some tea with a little lemon. Well, guess what, this little card has just that tucked inside.  Now that's a fun surprise!!
Seriously, isn't this just the cutest little card ever!!!  Whoever receives this will certainly feel loved!
These four cards were all cased from "Splitcoaststampers" and will be a January card class.  They were made with lots of love, and are ready and waiting to be sent to family and friends when needed.  Whoo wouldn't be blessed to get one in the mail!  Anyway I was sure blessed making them and doubly blessed getting to share them with you.

From my Craft room to Yours!
