"She Cave" is the name my husband gave to my craft room. Probably because its where I like to hang out, hibernate, and not be seen for days. Ha! Really, its not quite that bad, but believe me I do love my space! Actually I think a more appropriate name for the room would be "Rose Garden" or something refreshing like that. Anyway, enough about the room! Today I wanted to share with you a recycling project from the Cave/Garden.
I saw this craft in "The Green Magazine" and thought it was really cool. They recycled paper sack to make paper trim. What a great idea! It really could be used in so many ways and who doesn't love having something to use which is actually free!!! This was really super easy to do! Cut strips the width you want, fold at even intervals, sew down the middle and add whatever you want. I cut a piece of word print and added it down the center. The magazine had used a strip of tatting, which was awesome. It really looked so old fashion.
Here is a picture of what the various widths look like. I plan to embellish the trim in a variety of ways depending how I use it. For now I wrapped it around a spool and it is ready to use when I need it.

Wedding Bliss!
Wouldn't you love to get this invitation in the mail?? These were the invitations made for a Bridal Shower my daughter was having for her best friend. We made about 35 of them. All the materials used were from Stampin Up. The stamps sets used were, "Bliss" and "Inviting". The paper is Soft Suede, Blushing Bride, and Very Vanilla.
This is the matching Thank You Card. It would makes a great gift for the bride-to-be.
What's a party without party favors!!! Aren't these little gift bags adorable! I put pastel M&M in this one.
In keeping with the theme, I made this decorative cone too. The top is wrapped with some antique lace.
According to Webster, the definition of "Bliss" is: "Great joy or happiness"! That is a picture of what marriage can and should be, not only on the day of the wedding but for a life time. The commitment of a man and woman to love and cherish each other until death they do part. That kind of commitment involves self-sacrifice and hard work. Marriage is God's idea and with His blessing and help "Bliss" can be a word that describes every marriage.
God Bless You with Bliss!

Finished Friday-Wrapped in Love!
Remember the baby sweater which was in the making that I posted a couple weeks ago? Well, guess what??? It's done and just in time for warmer spring days! Let's just hope it fits. Those little buggers just grow sooooo fast!
Isn't it just precious! Just about as precious as my little granddaughter whom it was made for (and believe me she is precious). Every stitch was made with love and wonderful thoughts of Grandma's little girl. Working on the project just warmed my heart and put a smile on my face. I can hardly wait to see her in it. She will be warm and cozy this spring wrapped in love.
Here is a close up of the little flowers that I added to the bottom. I think the pink flowers really gave the sweater a femine touch, just perfect for a little girl.
Have a great weekend!
May your heart be merry, and your fingers nimble.

Warmth of Home Wednesday-Welcome to My Home!
Nothing is more welcoming than an inviting decoration on the front door! It just speaks hospitality, even to the unknown stranger who just happens to be driving by. It is a spoken greeting, before the front door is ever opened.
I have wanted to replace the evergreen wreath that hung on my door all winter and have been looking for a couple months. The wreaths that I found were just boring and frankly way over priced. I just could not bring myself to spend the money to purchase one and I was not in the mood to make one either. One has to have the inspiration at the time!! Right? That's how I operate anyway. So I just waited, and waited, and waited. Well yesterday I hit the jackpot and found this in a little shop downtown!!!
It was under $20.00 and it is so cute, creative and certainly unique. The shop own made it!
She drew everything free hand and gave it a sprinkling of glitter! Now that's talent! The detail is amazing! I just fell in love with it and knew it was exactly what I had been looking for! It had been out there just waiting for me to find it!
It is sweetly hanging on my front door announcing to the world "Welcome to My Home".
From my home to yours "Merry Spring".

Monday in the Making-In the Mood for Spring!
Nothing announces spring quite as gloriously as daffodils! I was thrilled when I went to the store last week and found these for sale. I promptly bought 2 bunches and brought them home.
. They have brightened up my kitchen and seem to reminded me that even thought the days are a bit chilly and the sun only occasionally peeks out, spring is on the way. Having said that, I am reminded to finish some projects left undone last spring.
I absolutely love the primitive stitchery scenes. I have made pictures with them and also used them to put on tea towels. They are so easy to take with you or work on in the evening.
The name of the patterns are: "Spring Cleaning" and "Joyous Spring Bouquet". The spring Cleaning pattern has a quilt hanging between two birdhouses. Buttons will be sewn on the quilt. It will be a picture. The "Joyous Spring Bouquet", I am going to put on a tea towel. Love It!!!
Blessings from my Home to Yours!

Warmth of Home-Sharing from the Heart!
Have you had one of those days lately when you want to curl up under the covers and go back to sleep, but the alarm just keeps ringing. I've had several lately!! It is on those morning when I need to do a little preaching to myself, to be reminded that I'm not living this life for my own pleasure. In fact real joy and pleasure comes when you give it away. We've all hear this, "Tis more blessed to give then receive". Today make a choice to take what God has given you (your gifts and talents) and share it from the heart. It is amazing how quickly your mood will improve, your focus clearer and your heart lighter. With that said, I want to share with you today the cards for this months Card Club.
The stamp set I used was "Nature Walk" by Stampin Up.
This card was made using the same stamp set "Nature Walk". It is so artsy, a great stamp set.
This card was stamped using the same set. The card was antiqued and then I used a technique which I will call brick building, since I guess that is what it looks like. It was fun to do and I like the results. The bird on this card was the 2-step bird punch. Talk about a fun punch to use. I have lots of plans for that punch! One little idea is on the following picture! Sweet little birds!!
These little guys are hanging out in my craft room. A snap to make with the punch!
Hope you enjoyed the pictures as much as I enjoyed sharing them with you!
From my Heart to yours!

St. Pat's Day Cards!
I have been having so much fun in my craft room! The latest creation is some adorable little St. Pat's Day cards. They were super easy to make and I think they are sooo cute.
The clip art that I used was free but I honestly don't remember the source. I have saved it in my file for quite some time. Since I am not exactly sure who to give the credit to, I will share with you some of my favorite spot to get inspiration and clip art. Be sure and visit them and enjoy! http://tammytutterow.typepad.com/vintage_papergoods/, http://vintageholidaycrafts.com/, http://magicmoonlightfreeimages.blogspot.com/
The rest of the supplies I used were ribbon, lace, paper doily, shamrocks which I purchased at Michael's, paper macha flower, button and lots of glitter.
This is a little goodie bag available for my Card Club gals this month. Fun stuff for St. Pat's Day!
The cards are on display in the Craft Room/She Cave. A little joy added to an already pretty fun place to hang out. Did I mention that I love this room???
I picked up a little sprig of greens at Michael's yesterday when I was making a supply run! I stuck it in the little basket and it added just a touch of spring. Sweet! Our surrounding should make us happy! God is sooo good! He surrounds us with loving kindness and tender mercies!
He forgives all your sins;
He heals all your diseases.
He redeems your life from destruction.
He crowns you with loving kindness and tender mercies.
He satisfies you with goodness; your youth is renewed like the eagles.

Warmth of Home Wednesday -"Oh What a Beautiful Morning"
This morning as I look out my kitchen window I see blue skies!! Yes, I said blue skies! We've had so many days without seeing the sun but today its shining. How true it is that the sunshine really does lift ones spirits. I feel energized this morning, excited about the day, and ready to get back to work in the "She Cave" . Before getting back to work, I wanted to share with you some more organizational ideas. A place you might want to check out is: http://craftystorage.blogspot.com/. It is loaded with great ideas. Crafters share ideas and shows pictures of their craft spaces.
This is my "She Cave/Craft Room" and pictures of some things I have done to stay organized. I hope it will be helpful to someone out there. It is so much more enjoyable to be organized and I believe one is more productive too.
We took the two doors off the closet at the end of the room. I think it makes the room look bigger and it is easy to see what is on the shelves. As you can see the plastic shoe boxes are all label. Crafters have lots of stuff and the labeled boxes help me keep track of where everything is. The table houses my sewing machine and when not in use makes into a great cutting table. The two ends can be folded in when you need more space in the room.
The vintage suitcase holds my cards, which are wrapped individually and in sets. They are for sale or personal use.
The cards are wrapped up with the envelope and all ready to go. This is one of my favorites!
This is a shelf which is super fun to decorate with the seasons. I like to add some seasonal wooden stamps too. I'm thinking it is time to take the snowman down!! Spring is coming!!
Easter is just around the corner and that makes me think warm thoughts of spring. The wreath above speaks from the heart, "Bless You" my dear friends. May your home be warm and organized.
Have a beautiful day!
